Associated Machine Design acquires REM Manufacturing | Labels & Labeling

Associated Machine Design has acquired the assets, intellectual property and brand of REM Manufacturing from Maxcess, which is continuing on its path to becoming a source of web handling components.

Associated Machine Design is an OEM supplier of standard and custom paper finishing equipment that includes winders, reels, unwinds, calenders, roll handling equipment and other specialty engineered products, primarily serving the pulp, paper, tissue, board and non-woven markets. It provides new equipment solutions along with upgrades, process improvements and rebuilds for existing equipment, plus engineering services, field service support, operator and maintenance training, and machine audits for process and safety.

Purchased by Webex in 2010, REM Manufacturing manufactures slitter rewinders. All quote requests, including new machines, rebuilds, spare parts and any other, will now be will be handled by Associated Machine Design.

Maxcess has acquired Fives North American Guiding Systems and Valley Roller Company this year, which, ‘highlights our continued buy and build market strategy to broaden our one-stop-shop product and service offering,’ according to Greg Jehlik, Maxcess CEO. ‘This divesture of REM Manufacturing is consistent with our desired focus on being a one-stop-shop for web handling components.’
